Yeah, I'm Back Too

Since BF has officially announced our...diet challenge, the heat is equally on here.

I jump started working out again today after almost a two-week hiatus on the time of the Texas trip and after. Although, we did go workout together at Rec on Monday the 25th. It wasn't an intensive session, but it was better than nothing.

Reading: Final reading of The Handbook for Parents for a book review I am doing.

I almost couldn't make it to the end of the yoga session. I had sweat coming out of my forehead, which normally didn't happen on yoga sessions with other trainer. This session wasn't harder than those. Also I yawned several times, in what I'm guessing, is the brain's cry for help for a lack of oxygen. I'm correlating this with my change in diet.

My weight has been going down since Sunday. I've started eating mostly salad and snacking on healthy stuff and fruits instead of the usual high calories Trader Joe's choc-filled cereal and chips. I can see a good sign coming my way. Also, I've stopped the using of a certain topical hair loss treatment. I'm blaming the sudden weight gain partially on it.

PS: Felt pain on my left leg the whole night Tuesday, I had to take painkiller. I'm guessing coming from not wearing proper sock. Lunch: baked fish and stir-fried broccoli, 1/2 egg, white rice
Snack: 1 apple
Dinner: baked fish and stir-fried broccoli with white rice

Wednesday
Trying out the smaller gym at work:

Elliptical 15 min
Treadmill 15 min
Bike 15 min
3 x 10 abdominal crunch
3 x 10 leg extension
3 x 10 leg curl
3 x 10 chest press

Lunch: egg-white omellette, 2 slices whole grain wheat bread
Snack: 1 banana
Dinner: baked fish and stir-fried broccoli, 1/2 egg, white rice, orange + pineapple juice
Snack: 1 serving of Special K cereal

Tuesday
No work out today

Lunch: Pasta with turkey meatballs
Snack: 1/2 banana
Dinner: egg white omellete and bread and purple leaf lettuce
Snack: cereal

Monday

Elliptical 30 min
Bike 15 min

Breakfast: 2 servings of cereal and whole milk
Lunch: Panada, deep fried kimbop (2)
Snack: 1/2 Banana, Nastar
Dinner: Small serving of Soto
Snack: Lapis legit, nastar, panada (2)

A Week Worth

Sunday, 01/25

Lunch (in observance of the CNY): Well I don't even know how to quantify it, a lot of tofu, fish, vegetables, beef, soup, no rice, one rice ball with red bean paste filling and fruit for dessert, oh some sugary sodas. Geez.

Dinner (also for CNY): some shrimps, lobster, beef, baby octopus, a lot of vegetables and mushrooms and walnuts, some fried noodle, one sesame ball. Geez.

Snack: some nastar

Saturday, 01/24

Lunch: Panada (1)
Snack: Nastar ... bad Xinda
Dinner: Small amount of fried noodle and a couple pieces of Orange Chicken
Snack: 3 tbsp of Ben and Jerry's Rocky Road, grapes, Panada (1)

No workout today
Breakfast: 1/2 banana
Lunch: Corn bread, a cup of Clam Chowder, Oyster crackers
Dinner: Pasta with turkey meat balls and purple leaf lettuce
Snack: Panada (3)..bad Xinda

3 x 7 bicep curl

Breakfast: a serving of Eating Right Cereal Almond Cranberry with whole milk
Lunch: pasta with turkey meatballs and purple leaf lettuce
Snack: a peach
Dinner: 2 servings of Cherrios with whole milk

Monday, 01/19

No workout today..

Breakfast: 1/4 grapefruit, 1/2 banana
Lunch: Grilled chicken and rice (~ 1000 calories)
Snack: sesame candy from China (~80 calories)
Dinner: Noodle with ground beef and meatballs (~ 600 calories)
Snack: hmm...pineapple cookies, Oreos, a piece of bread (~500 calories)

Recipe for whole grain power shake

Combine into microwavable cup
3 Tbs oatmeal
1 Tbs wheat germ
1 Tbs Whole ground flax seed
2 Tbs Soy Flour

Optional
1-2 Tbs raisins or dried cranberries or other fruit

Add 3/4 to 1 cup of boiling water
Stir thoroughly, let sit for 3-5 min
Add 1 cup milk or OJ (milk is better)
Add 1/2 cup water

Mix with hand blender for 30 sec to 1 min.
Optional add 1 - 2 Tbs protein powder while blending
